SW Wisconsin's Prairie Du Chien

We are going to start with the Prairie Du Chien area of the state.  This is where HWY 35 starts
in Wisconsin and runs north along the Mississippi river.  This is where the Wisconsin river and
the Mississippi river connect. This area is one of the prettiest area of the state, especially during
the fall.  With its hills, valleys, and river ways, there are two major state parks. One in Wisconsin,
Wyalusing State Park, and one in Iowa, Pikes Peak State Park. Both of which have amazing views
of both rivers.

These state parks are great places to view the connecting rivers and every spring this is a great area to come and view the bald eagles who fill the skies around here. Wyalusing State Park is one of
Wisconsin's oldest state parks. There are plenty of things to do in the park all year long. There is over 20+ miles of trails, boat landings and even mountain biking trails. In the winter a portion of the trails are open for cross-country skying.

Starting in Prairie Du Chien Highway 35 starts to run right along the Mississippi River to LaCrosse.
This only takes about an hour to get to LaCrosse. But if you choose to stay in the PDC area there are many things to do. There is a casino just across the river called, Lady Luck Casino. There is also a park that is full of sculptures representing many different thing.

Next time I will talk about LaCrosse, yes its a bigger city but its also a great city of Wisconsin.

Now I have to say, I am not sponsored by anyone and am not being paid to post the links above. I would also like to apologies that its taking a while between posts. I've been busier with school then I was hoping but I am going to do my best to keep posting on a regular schedule.
